Flood Risk Assessment Advice
WHAT IS A FLOOD RISK ASSESSMENT (FRA)?
All forms of flooding and their impact on the natural and built environment are material planning considerations and therefore all developments require an FRA or Drainage Statement in order to comply with planning policies in the UK.
They are required where the proposed development may be subject to flooding or where the Environment Agency, Internal Drainage Board or other bodies have indicated that there may be drainage problems.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS
- Well produced FRA's provide cost benefits and programme savings as they minimise surface water drainage requirements and reduce planning delays
- They help to speed up the planning process via improved communications with the Environment Agency, Water Authorities and Local Authorities
- Improved chances of securing planning permission
