Our experience:
Pinnacle has gained significant experience of data centre projects from new build to change of use and conversions of other buildings and has established a specialist data centre project group at the Welwyn Garden City Office under Director Ed Coupe.
Pinnacle has also acted for Clients such as HSBC as monitoring Civil and Structural Consultants and carried out this role on their new Tier 4 Data Centre in Hertfordshire. As well as carrying out the client monitoring role of the contractors team, Pinnacle brought numerous value engineering savings to the project.
Our current work:
Pinnacle continue to expand their data centre workload with numerous projects for hi-tech MEP services consultants such as Red Engineering Designs Ltd, much of which has focused on the installation of data halls into various existing building's including the installation of mezzanine floors to support new plant, often in confined spaces.
On several projects this has meant the installation of complex foundations solutions in existing buildings (many remaining operational) to support increased loads due to the change of use of the building.
Ed comments: "We are seeing an increased number of enquiries of new data centre projects with many data centre space providers and end users seeking to create ‘cloud’ data centres as businesses increasingly move to a more virtual environment.
It is certainly the fastest growing sector of our business at present and we are excited about bringing our unique blend of experience and technical expertise coupled with some good old fashioned engineering common sense to an increased client base".
